Belle of the Boil book release to be held in Breaux Bridge

South Louisiana native, educator, and author Andrea Brew Harrison is proud to announce the release of her third children’s book, Belle of the Boil, on April 7, 2026. To celebrate this “ode to Louisiana,” a family-friendly book release event will be held at the Breaux Bridge Library on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM.
Following the success of her debut titles, ’Twas the Night Before Bayou Classic (2016) and ’Twas the Night Before Bayou Classic: A Tiger’s Tale (2017), Harrison returns with a vibrant story that captures the heart of Cajun and Creole culture.
Belle of the Boil introduces readers to Belle, a young girl preparing for her very first crawfish boil. On a sweltering, sticky Louisiana afternoon, Belle’s dreams of spicy, succulent mudbugs finally come to life. The story follows her as she learns to pinch, peel, and pull her way through a true Bayou State feast.
"Growing up immersed in Louisiana’s traditions, I wanted to create a story that feels like home," says Harrison. "As an educator, my goal is to foster a love of reading by filling bookshelves with stories where children can see their own lives and cultures honored and remembered."
